Another initiative by Government has taken its peak. The Ministry of Justice has been once again successful in its efforts to increase efficiency in its services.

An important section of the Ministry, the Office of the Registrar of Companies mainly focuses on the establishment of business and other institutions under the relevant Acts in accordance with the economic and trade policy of the Government and to act in vigilance in regard to their effective functioning thus assisting other commercial activities.

The Registrar of Companies (ROC) has a website now namely whereby members of the public and anyone else interested in registering a company or business can lodge their application online. They can also do search of company names and check the status of their application themselves. The registration fee still needs to be paid at the cashiers in the Companies Office.

The users just have to register themselves on the business portal. All that the user has to do is to visit the above mentioned site, click on “sign in” then click on “register as business portal user”. After filing the necessary details, they can activate their accounts through the activation email sent to their email address. Once the user has activated his/her account, he/she can access the services offered by the ROC Office.

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Mr Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said that the setting up of the website will reduce time delays and increase efficiency.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said that the Bainimarama Government will embark on and fast track many like initiatives to provide better and modernised services to the public of Fiji.
